Slim Jim Holster

I'm making some holsters for a couple of recently acquired C&B revolvers. I finished this one yesterday. All of my C&B revolvers get Slim Jim or flap holsters. Finished the holster for my Uberti Leech & Rigdon and have now begun working on a holster for the Uberti Remington 1858 NMA. Made with 9 oz Herman Oak leather and waxed pigskin lining.

Beautiful! Thanks for posting. I've been enjoying getting back into leather crafting but have a LONG way to go before I can turn out something close to that.

Looks like a well made holster! Did you follow any specific patterns, or did you just go for it?

It looks great! Love the tooling and color.

DiMarco, I prefer to make my own patterns in order to incorporate features not usually found on ready made patterns.

I like the design on your holster, very 19th century looking, beautiful and graceful, yet understated. Where did you source your waxed pigskin?

Here is a slim jim I made for a friend a couple of years back. I used an example from Packing Iron as inspiration, but not to make a exact duplicate.

It508th, Thank you. Those are beautiful holsters you have made. The stitching is excellent and the carving is unique. I sourced the waxed pigskin from Tandy's website.

Thank you kindly, Tacitus! I can't say that I can ever recall seeing the waxed pigskin on Tandy's website, I'll have to check that out more closely - thanks for the tip!

Dude, I mailed my last one to my brother recently for his new Uberti 1851 Navy. I will be making replacements soon. I will be sure to post them.
