So, my wife and I are on different different schedules. We both work days, but leave at different times of the morning. We even work at the same place, but our shifts are always off just a bit. Apparently, she pays attention to my late night YouTube watching. Anyway, we exchanged gifts tonight for our Valentine’s Day, since she will be leaving much earlier than usual in the morning. This is what she bought me.. View attachment 198080

This is my first black powder revolver. My jaw hit the floor. Needless to say I’m very much a rookie with these. So, I’m going to rely on y’all to help me figure this revolver out.

I have one slightly used wife I would be willing to make a trade with you! LOL!

Ok, great wife and all, but on to practical matters....

It's a brass-frame revolver. Keep the loads on the light side and maybe you don't want to try conical bullets. Read the fine manual and follow the directions. Number 10 caps probably. They've been hard to come by of late, but keep looking, don't try #11 caps unless you want to experience a chain-fire.

Tony, I bet your friends all call you Lucky! It sounds like you realize just what/who you have in your wife, good for you. She's a treasure, indeed.
As for the gun, well, ALRIGHT! You've come to the right place. There's good people here, ask away, we're happy to help. We were all in your shoes at one time so don't feel embarrassed to ask about something that you feel is too basic, glad to help.
Welcome to the forum.

Anthony - I trust she also got an awesome thoughtful gift, powder and lead perhaps?? Leather and pillow ticking??
:dunno::ghostly:
She received some nice flashy wrist jewelry and lots of other trinkets Though, I wonder if if could be melted if necessary 🤔. If y’all don’t see me around for a while, the answer is a hard NO.. lol.

I did buy a nice shiny .32 round ball mold. I told her it was for her as well. I got that stern look that most redheads give.

Thank you for the advice. I did note that from reading some threads to be easier on the brass framed ones. And I will bolo on the #10’s if necessary.

Proverbs 18:22

You (and me) are very blessed indeed. She is a looker, a worker and a shooter (or shooters best friend). What else is there? Actually my son scored right along with us. His wife is a looker, cooker, worker, shooter, hunter, fisher, best friend and worlds best DIL.

Happy VDay to all you guys and gals.

I was married to an excellent woman. She kept me when I wasn't particularly keepable. Bought me a TC .54 cal rifle kit in 85. I got her a TC Seneca .36 cal in 86. She was a good wife. Passed in 96 and from what I've seen and met since then I haven't seen or heard of one I'd marry. Wouldn't be fair to either of us. Wives like yours and mine aren't that common any more I don't believe.

Amen to that! A rare thing indeed.

Definitely hard to find. A toast to the wives 🥂

I guess being an Anthony is lucky. My wife and I are going on 47 years. She let me buy a Dragoon and a LeMat so she choose a stainless steel percussion snub nose 44; she calls it her "Dick Tracy gun". She can hit steel at 18 yards and loads BP, wad, and RB as fast as I can. She also wanted an unmentionable for the nightstand, a small revolver. We don't go to bed mad. I once made the mistake of buying her a 400 dollar set of earings. She immediately gave them back and ordered me to return them and get golf clubs. Now she asks at least twice a week: Range, Sporting clays, or golf. What a woman!!!!!

Real early on in my marriage I was about 20, I found that it was a bad practice to buy the wife things to clean house with, appliances and such. They like personal stuff a lot more.
No doubt. Also, don’t buy women clothes or shoes. I buy her a gift card to the places she likes, and she can decide. Otherwise, I’ll have my rear in a sling ha, ha! Thankfully, she’s very easy going.
