This is likely an afghan bring back souvenir gun, but as is common it's put together from an assortment of new and original parts. The Miquelet Lock and it's springs are in pretty good shape and appears to be of good quality. The barrel is in decent condition and measures .74 cal. Maybe a salvaged British service pistol barrel. You can see the dovetail for the original tenon. The lock would be great for a new build without having to finish out a kit of new castings.

this interests me, as long as I could actually fire it safely...

does the lock work?
Yeah the lock works, and the springs are strong. The bore has some light pitting but isn't too bad. It's also still a bit dirty so some of what you see in the picture would brush out.
