Looking for a wad punch for my 10ga Pedersoli fixed "choke" dbl brrl. 10ga bore should be .775"? I haven't mic'd it yet, but I can get a .875" (7/8") punch easy enough. That would put my wads .100" bigger than bore. I'm thinking of trying mainly cardboard of different thicknesses so the extra diameter should conform nicely for OP wads I'd think? Anybody with any experience with this? Any help appreciated.

Like electrical conduit?
Or that black steel pipe sold in the plumbing section of big box stores.

Hardware stores sell short pieces of steel pipe that are threaded on both ends.

Cut off the threads and drill that sucker out.

A Bosch drill bit might cost 15-20 bucks on Amazon.

P.S. I think the wall thickness on conduit may be too thin. You may stumble into a piece of something that will be the correct inside diameter for your needs. Grab some calipers and go hunting.

Looks like there's some conduit with a .824" inside diameter. That's closer than the .875" punch I'm looking at

I'm an HVAC guy by trade. I'm surrounded by various options. I'll see what I can find and make my own...thanks

Yes I agree. I'm gonna do some looking around and shake down in house electrician as well as look at some black iron nipples. I'll find something

When I make punches for both rifle and smoothbores I make them to throw a wad about .025 to .030 over bore size. I have made over one hundred punches over the years for people and not had a complaint yet!

I was able to fashion a punch that makes some .824" wads. I punched out a bunch of double thick cardboard wads to have as an option for an op card when go to the range. If they are the ticket I'll make more? Also thinking of punching out some cork?
