Does anybody know why the Sharps company did not put a cleaning rod under the barrel in their percussion rifles?
Seems like a major inexplicable oversight.
Was it to save money?

'evening,

I saw one original years ago at a gun show, it did have a ramrod. It wasn't a DST, it was a single trigger/Infantry model. Wished that I had the cash for it then, I've never seen another.

But it's as Phil Coffins said. Plus, each company armorer had a wiping stick.
