I can get all the black powder you want for $38.00 a can, but caps are now $18.00 a tin ! That is why I have all flintlocks except for my wife’s 32 caliber Crockett rifle from Traditions ! I would convert it to flint also if it had a powder drum on it instead of the block portion with the nipple hole on top of the rear of the barrel ! I don’t understand why Traditions didn’t offer this popular squirrel rifle in flintlock ????? Maybe one day caps, primers, powder and reloading components will be back in our stores along with groceries and everything else that is in short supply and maybe the inflated prices will shrink back down , OR maybe the gov mint will raise every bodies pay check to the amount that equals the price of things like they were before the politicians and our idiot president screwed everything up ! BUT I ain’t holding my breath! I just pay the high price and get what I need, before that is gone !!
My BP club has just received another case of mixed BP from “Travelers Antiques and Trading“ In Tx. With shipping and Hazmat the price came to $27.12 a lb.
Doc,

I get mine from Kentucky Gun Co. Not as cheap as the Andersons store in Maumee Ohio that I used to get them from in the 80's . (I think 2 dollars a tin) But them days are gone . Time to move on and keep shooting

Today many of the businesses are home based businesses, therefore the address being a house.
The BBB F rating is for a business called "Hunters Precision". Shows they are in Ohio, but, like you said, phones show Illinois & Virginia, could be China scam. Anyway I emailed them to see the kind of response I get.....verrrrry interesting!

Very true but they show pictures of a store front on thier website. I'm not saying they are not leget just that they are supect. And for $15 I'll buy from a proven company like Kentucky Gun Co. or one of the others we've all used.

I looked at that address on satellite and it's an empty field. So far they haven't replied to my email.
Very suspect. I asked about the phone numbers and address, still no reply. Looks like a good place to avoid.

#11 Percussion Cap Maker I no longer wrestle over haz-mat no longer take trips of 150 miles plus looking for caps .22sharpshooter.com I spent $90 on my initial investment, got 1500 or so caps then every 1500 after is $22 for the prime all but you may do however you like I Like this easier for me
Yea a tool for #10 and #11 not sure exactly what the difference is between them and you can make the H-48 as well. Man should be self sufficient with all this and a lead mold!

Free here when they are laying. Both chickens and ducks.

Someone just replied to a thread from 2005 just now, which is a NecroThread record for me

If people think a thriving 20 page long discussion is a problem, what do they think of threads from nearly 20 years ago coming back?
Holy manure.....I probably won't be here, but, what if we could keep this thread actually going for 20 years?! What an accomplishment that would be. We're gonna need some new younger members though to get involved. Recruit now.:thumb::)

Doc,
I just bought from them too. I discovered (too late) that the CCI magnum are cheaper than the CCI regular. I've always found them to perform equally.

Has anyone had experience with HunterPrecision.com. They say they are in OH and they have CCI #11 in stock at a reasonable price. Just not sure if this is legit.
UPDATE AGAIN: That registrant for that outfit is not out of New Foundland,,,,they registered out of the Netherlands!!

I did a satellite search: address leads to an empty field, phone numbers are Illinois and Virginia. I emailed them to clarify these issues....no reply yet. I also did a "whois" search. If you want to find a lot of info on a business go to Whois.com - Domain Names & Identity for Everyone. This search showed the were registered in the Country of New Foundland....all other information was redacted. Also shows to have been created August 2022.
I have come to the conclusion that it's a scam.

UPDATE: Got a reply that they have a number of enterprises across USA. Uh..Huh...sure...
If anyone has someone close to them in Ohio, they could find out for sure by going to that address....however, an empty field for an address is kind of suspicious.

I've actually googled stuff and found threads I posted back in 2002 or so on long defunct forums, back in the good old days when you'd get replies from dudes that were the real guys in famous movies, like Randy Shugart telling you about red dot optics.

I did recently find out a guy who used to start arguments on the Ruger Forum died a few years back....I'm like dam , reality check.....I necrothreaded an argument from 2012 and the one guy is like , well I guess you got the last word , he passed 5 years ago

If it smells like 💩 then it usually is......

KYGUNCO probably socked away palettes of caps back when they were cheap

There's no way some sketchy "outdoor company " is well stocked with primers and caps and no one else is

Yes and they are the only ones selling #11's at $4.99.....be nice if someone lived near them in Ohio, just to check them out.

If this thread stays alive, you might get your message count up to 10,000 by the end of the year 🤣
