Custom .40 Cal Colonial Rifle
Unknown maker, .40 caliber, 35-3/4" straight profile Sharon Barrel 7/8" across. In the white. Muzzle is marked .40 and 72. Bore is excellent. 14" LOP. Weighs 8lbs 14oz. Nicely figured maple stock with carving throughout, and inlaid cheek piece. Side plate engraved R. A. Rigby, I suspect that was the builder/owner. I wasn't able to dig up any info online. The use of a William Buchele Lock is quite interesting, the only one I've personally come across. Lock function feels great and is very quick with a wooden flint. A nice gun for somebody maybe wanting a shorter than average carved longrifle in a Lancaster sort of style with some great vintage muzzleloading components.
Reduced to $1200 Shipping Included
