as my wife reminds me all the time. Have only 2 faults, first is everything I say and the second is everything I do. :dunno:
Sounds just like me, welcome home brother, at 79 I don’t care what I say or do , don’t wear a tie, don’t have to be polite or choose my words wisely , it’s great being an old fart , keep warm it’s freezing in UK . My son says I have a mental problem , one of these modern things , I really don’t give a s…… neither does my cat. Enjoy

haven't worn a suit in over 30 years, ties are things that are on a hanger 'somewhere' in the closet that are left over from 'something'. Awhile back, found all these handkerchiefs in the back of the drawers, some were gifts from when I graduated from high school in 1973. All of them still in the gift boxes. Figured that if I hadn't opened those boxes and had been dragging them around all those years; that the odds that I'd wear them were quite slim. Popped them opened and used them for cleaning rags. Weren't worth a flip for that. So, what the heck was I doing keeping them for? Guess if you were into such a thing that they'd be nice. Just not me.

Around here the dress up for funerals and weddings is clean blue jeans with belt, a white shirt, clean western boots and a bolo tie and stetson. I haven't seen anybody in a suit other than a police detective once in years.

It's definitely CVA the model was called the Missouri it had a plain lock without a curved bottom. Larger in size also. Tended to have plenty of wood on the stock also. I've got one in my collection that's like new. Oh and they had a 1" barrel on them.

Thanks for the info!

Nice Find! Is there a two-digit year code before the serial number?

Thanks!

Walt
Sorry, kept meaning to look. I guess this means 1986.

Hawkin......I doubt if anybody on this board has a REAL Hawkin. If they do let us see it. Everything else is a fabrication regardless of what it's called.
I know of 2 members here with original Hawken rifles. Probably a few more I'd wager.

I prefer the term Hawkenesque for those guns that are loosely designed around the Hawken rifles of old.

Yes, it does. According to my 1990 CVA catalog, the 1-48" barrel was an accessory only. Yours has a 1-66" Round Ball Barrell!

Good Luck & have fun!

Walt
That’s awesome - thanks for sharing! I guess mine is the CVA Hawken Rifle - Premier Grade.

Pedantic much? Since the Hawken is no longer made for at least 100 years and the Hawkens clan is out of that business, I would think it has become a common understanding that "in the Hawken style" is what is meant.
Pretty much my thoughts.
