Do the factories pay the workers more money to make more caps because the price went up? I really doubt that. Hopefully somebody on this forum can give me the answer.

Yea KYGUNCO had foresight, 5 tins coming thru the door today just anytime!
 
I have access to #11 CCI and Remington caps at $8.99 and $10.99 a tin of 100 plus tax. The #10 and magnum percussion caps cost more. Buy as much as I can then sell to friends in local clubs that really need them for a match and not for them to resell at a huge mark up. Limit of one or two tins per person. Usually mark up only enough to pay for transportation to and from gun shops. Don't ask me where they are.
Our club can get black powder for $12 - $15 a pound but marks it up to $18.00. Still a good price when you can't otherwise find it. We don't have it shipped with haz mat fees but go to the supplier or the supplier will drive up (from Texas to Colorado) to deliver. We used to drive to Wyoming to get 25 pound order of 2F or 3F and sometimes 4F or mixed depending what was in stock. Can't wait until Exeter Energetics gets powder made and out the doors. Dates keep getting pushed back.
 
Caps are made by CCI and Remington as a "courtesy" but we covered this earlier in this thread

Not a single exec at CCI or Remington is worried about percussion caps, they probably just have a built in schedule for when they make batches of caps because they've offered them for so long, loyal customers expect them. Because 99.9% of us buy other CCI and Remington products.

The CEO isn't losing sleep because some percussion revolver enthusiasts and muzzleloading rifle owners are low on caps......

Apparently the raw material to make primers is more expensive so they're passing costs to the consumer

Gas prices are causing food prices to go up and once vendors see that we keep buying eggs and meat, they're not lowering prices

If we can get the Fudds to stop buying palettes of ammo to resell and sweeping the shelves of Pyrodex we may see prices creep downward

I probably have all of this in totes in my basement TBH

I once opened a box and found a Reichsrevolver I forgot I owned and a Dutch Beaumont bolt so ya never know

I have one, they're trash and only threaded for T/C or Pedersoli Hawken type rifles

Plus primers are harder to get than caps. My Dunham's had the 209 primers made for 777 and someone bought them all

You think caps are expensive wait till you find primers if you can find them.

Since you’re so connected to those in charge and their sleep patterns. Please speak to them on our behalf or at least stop posting your taunt filled posts.
 
Went to a gun show this past weekend and someone had Goex and swiss bp for sale. $30 a pound and he had at least 6 of each variety. Didn’t see caps but did find pistol and rifle primers.
Don’t expect prices to go back to old prices but a reduction would be nice.
 
Hello everyone I'm new here like everyone else have no caps. I have a TC 50 cal hawkins. It takes a #ten cap on the nipple. I don't have # 11 caps to compare with. My friend bought a rifle last weekend and got the #10s. My question is are the #11 different in size? if the #10 fits will the #11 be too loose. Also will the #10s be ok to use?

It would motivate him to probably put this in a Powerpoint during a meeting, so they could get a good laugh at us and the Executive Board can be like "these guys are serious about their caps ! that's great. Well anyway let's get on that 200,000 round order of 9mm for the IRS"
