If I'm wanting to sell something on this forum. If Im doing the selling and I receive a cashiers check for the item I'm selling, is there anyway I could get scammed in the deal? I understand I CAN if I'm buying. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks all

Personal check and wait until it clears or a postal money order. Either one works for me.

If it is a long time poster and member I will do some electronic stuff.

I was in a Post Office a few years back getting ready to ship off a crossbow I had just sold. The guy next to me had a USPS money order someone sent him as payment for something he sold. Something didn't look quite right so the post master looked at it. He said no way.

So indeed, always cash the Money order before shipping something off.

Cashiers checks used to be gold but then technology made it easy to forge them. As a Real Estate broker responsible for closing transactions (usually using title company services) we simply stopped accepting Cashiers checks unless both parties agreed to a funds clearance arrangement.

If you deposit or cash a Cashiers check and send merchandise but find afterwards that it was counterfeit you are screwed. The bank wants their money and they WILL have it.

I accept postal MO, personal checks and PayPal. Never been cheated.
