With all that said, a 8lb gun with 570 gr bullet at 1350 fps mv will have a recoil impulse of around 21-23 That would be 100 grains of 2f Triple 7 to achieve that. That is just a tad more than the venerable 30-06 180 gr at 2700 (20.3)

A 7.5 lb shotgun with 1 oz (437 gr) @ 1570fps slug will have a recoil impulse of 28-29

Here is the classic 45-70
.45-70 (405gr at 1330fps)7.5 lb gun18.7 recoil impulse

All of these "kick" less than a 338 win mag 225 gr 2750 fps with a recoil impulse of 35.

Just some perspective

Cook & Brother made some 3-banders apparently, I wish Pedersoli would make some of those

They are basically the Pedersoli Enfield with a few tweaks but I honestly like the look of the Cook & Brother a little better.

I really like the looks of it. A well done piece of art, simplified.
I like the simple rear sight too.....you get some windage adjustment, it's simple , rugged, no screws ,sliders, leaves that flop around. It's part of the reason why I wanted one. I just want to shoot without worrying about some delicate rear sight ladder or leaf

There's a fair number of folks who shoot them in the Carbine class in North South Skirmish Association competition. They shoot pretty well and can rival a Parker Hale musketoon for accuracy.
