My Woodsrunner kit from Kibler arrived today. Man, are there lots of screws holding the cover on the box. They're more than I want to take out with a screwdriver in my arthritic hands and my battery powered drill is dead. Bummer! I'll put off opening it for a bit. However, I'm really curious to see what's inside. Brie at Kibler's told me they had selected a nice cherry stock for me. I had requested a stock with a bit of figure. I'm going to take assembly of the kit slow and easy so I'm telling myself to not get overly anxious to see what arrived.

I'm looking forward with dread to getting an SMR within the week. I haven't paid for it yet, and I'm so far over budget this month one more gun purchase might lead to violence. My big ceramic piggy bank is full and I know where my hammer is.

Hahah! When I first read the title of your post.. I was like, oh manure! Then chuckled as I read the post. Keep us up to date as to the progress of your kit.. I just ordered a woodsrunner.
If Jim ever lets us down it will be time to roll up the carpet. Show will be over.

I jumped on this thread so fast…

Actually noticed the same on my box from a month or so ago (Colonial .58/24). Felt like someone wrapped a Christmas present in a few smaller boxes. It’s too bad I didn’t get ‘screwed’ into a wood upgrade 😉

It turned out ok…

I got one of those boxes several months back....

I've never owned, or handled a finer rifle - she is a .40 and deadly at 30 yards - now I gotta get back to the range for some further sight-in and shooting fun.

Lol, I thought you were saying the Boss was gonna ..., My boss tells me "if you buy another gun this month I'll be pulling that long rifle out your ..... it won't be loaded when it comes out!
I Love her but ....., I locked up my ....., when I found out it shipped!

I really think this title should be changed. Kibler is an outstanding business and at first glance it doesn't do him any good...
People who read these forums and are looking up topics on muzzleloaders might be the least apt to just read a title. I completely understand what you’re saying, but anyone who read the title will instantly click on it

Congratulations! I am almost as excited as you are! I’m on tap to receive one in March. Looking forward to seeing pictures of yours, as I too, ordered a cherry stock. I’ve built maple, and walnut stocked guns but never cherry. Hope I haven’t made a mistake in the wood choice. Give it a day to rest and open it with glee AND battery power tomorrow!

My Kibler SMR 40 is a fine shooter, I was practicing 25 yard offhand and decided to shoot a couple offhanders at 50 yards. This was 35gr of Goex, .016 pillow ticking lubed with simple green and a .395 RB
