Seen one today thinking I might need. NO markings on rifle that I can see anywhere. Borrowed a tape measure and bore measured 3/8 so unsure of caliber. Lock seemed to be good and strong. Will go back with a light and look at bore and maybe pick it up. Patch box is unlike any I remember seeing . FBC

The hammer/nipple geometry couldn't be more wrong. The hammer face looks ground back a ways.

She kinda looks cobbled together.

The side of the stock comes up way too far. Completely covering the barrel flat. Looks like the stock was cut down so it lined up with the lock plate.

Price?

Be interesting to see a full picture of the entire ML.

My take is a hobby builder in the 60s or 70s with some scrounged parts and without all the references we have today for proper styles and shaping. We make guns that are recognizable to one school or another today, in the time period mentioned above the beginner hobby builders just made something that looked like a gun to them.

We see some of that today with beginners building guns with lock panels 1" wide, barrels hidden in the wood and patch box finials pointed every which way.

I think you may be right . Going back today to inspect condition of the barrel . If its good I think I could get it for $100 .
