Spend some time in the woods, weather permitting. Work in the shop. Cook big pots of soup and chili. Sit by the fire, read, sip whiskey, and ponder whether one should blow down the barrel after shooting.
Thanks. Now I'm hankering for some chili. Just make sure you never blow down the barrel while shooting...

Thanks folks for the kind comments about my wife's health. She's a tough old hide , and hopefully , we will get through the Jab sickness , and get back to our lives. Since my wife's Emergency Room adventures concerning her heart attack , we were sent a "Mandatory " survey from the govt. , CDC , Center for Disease Control and Prevention , wanting our entire health history's , by mail , or they will send out an agent to demand an oral assessment. YEA.....that's going to happened. They should interrogate O-bummer about sponsoring the covid super virus research at two locations in the US , before the program was moved to china. Our tax dollars paid for the covid debacle development. And , Trump had nothing to do with it.

Rough time of year for those of us who like to get outdoors. I'd guess this time of year many spend more time than usual perusing websites and forums. So my question is what kind of thing do you do to break the monotony of winter besides getting wrapped around discussing whether or no to blow down your barrel between shots?😉
It's been a really warm winter here in Northwestern Pa. No cabin fever here. However, 2022 has been a rough year. I got Lymes twice and covid once. Lost 30 pounds. It is what it is. Semper Fi.

I have cabin fever so much I am planning on building another

I hope tonight I will start using my paper cartridge making kit for my 1860. Last week end I started my sight in the T/c renegade I upgraded the sights on (Lyman aperture, thin patridge front) which I hope to use in league this year. We also have a new spitfire kitten in the house which is really livening things up. She has our two Rottweillers wrapped around her fingers.
We also have a bathroom I have to refinish...not liking it, but better than in the summer time, and I need to start planning for week long motorcycle trip I want to take this summer up through the Gaspe Peninsula.

Yeah - That's my kind of cabin ! !

Not much "Winter" here, except for low temps - so business as usual until the hunting seasons here end next month.

After that, cruising around, looking for a deal/steal on whatever floats my boat.

Retirement has been good to me, these past 20 years.

I'm hoping to see some pics of all your winter projects, towards the Spring.

Wow you guys are keeping busy. Me, i am still working my 40 hours. Not retired yet.
Have been thinking of gardening and the rifle builds i have procrastinated on ( and two pistols).

I do a lot of reading. I often build or restore a gun. Sometimes I make new leather products or repair something that gave out last season. If the wife sees me doing nothing, she usually has a list of things she wants done around the house. I reload a lot of unmentionable ammunition. I have written and published a novel. I have half a dozen novels in the works, at different levels of completion. My wife and I play cards and board games. I research and learn what Rendezvous, Trade Shows and shooting matches will be going on when the weather breaks. I plan my spring, summer and fall around them. I am usually very busy, including the time I spend on forums like this.

Old wood, i trust your wife is recovering well. Did she have open-heart surgery or Stent or medication? I am a 40 year survivor of a quadruple bypass. And you are right God is good. Prayers going up for Jesus’s healing wings.
