Well son of a gripe I tried the trigger out today MAN is it sweet! I put in a take up adjustment screw in my Kibler colonial. 58 smoothbore so no more floppy trigger! Not only did it shoot better but Wow best group I ever shot with it. I tested a new load out 85 grains of my 2 1/2 F homemade black powder / 45 grains of corn meal yep corn meal right on top of the powder then a shot card aka a Ritz cracker card cut from a 15mm round punch then my .008 patch and a .562 roundball. I was shocked at my 45 yard group, shot 4 with in the 1 1/2 in orange dot then messed it up with a 5th shot lol, I knew I pulled the shot as soon as it went off. But still very impressed! More testing to come want to try a .570 and .575 bare ball load.

It is a beautiful place pretty smokey today, from the Nakia Creek Fire. We are only a few miles from it but, so far so good wind has died down and we are looking at some rain by Friday I hope. I messed up on the group but I am not complaining I will take it. I am so happy I ordered the 58 smoothbore.

Ok when are you gonna say "just kiddin" it's got rifling!
Lol it's a smoothbore I was shocked that the corn meal worked out. I don't know if it was a fluk or if I can repeat a group like that again at 45 yards but I will try. I know before using corn meal at 60 yards I can keep all my shots on a 8x9 gong. 60 is as far as I have shot, so far. But this kibler has amazed me at the accuracy I have been getting.

Keep practicing, eventually those groups will tighten up 😂. Seriously though that's pretty impressive, nice work!

Rifle or smoothie I use a wad under my patched balls and I think they shoot tighter and patches always look better.

Pretty much only use wasp nest. I think it limits burning the patch…when the burning powder is right on the patched ball bad things can happen. Plus when I leave a gun loaded during hunting season the wet patch does not compromise the powder charge sitting under it.
