Nice, what sort of patch/lube combo? My .36 smr finally settled on 30gr 3f, .350 ball, .15 ticking patch and oliveoil lube.
350 round ball, .018 pillow tick with wonder lube over 35g Swiss FFFg primed with 3g FFFFg, Ill get full pics tomorrow.

Great looking rifle!
Dirty muzzle, all clean now. I love this piece of wood. Was going to bone black it but I’m thinking less is more. 4 more coats of tried and true to put on.

That is a great looking rifle, my SMR kit in .40 should be here in a week or 2. Just curious as to what grade your stock is and what you stained it with?

i love that muzzle, how did you do it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Tannic acid, aqua fortis, and I’m using tried and true finish. I put three or four drops of Laurel Mountain Forge cherry in 2 tablespoons of finish and started rubbing it back, using the tinted finish, with a maroon Scotch-Brite pad. This gave me that red warmth back into the wood. Some people use Amber toner to bring the warmth back but I like that touchup reddish warm. I did two coats of tannic acid and aqua fortis, letting it dry between coats before I started rubbing it back.
That’s a fancy maple stock. I’m going to put a woods runner on order an extra fancy I think.
