What I did today? I made another knife. The blade is High Carbon RR Spike, 7 inches long. The handle is Moose Leg Bone. The sheath is commercial tanned 8oz. cow hide, hand sown with a saddle stitch. Semper Fi.

Fondled my new, to me, 1858 Remington. Very nice, looks unfired. Discovered one of my unused holsters is a perfect fit. Got to prepare lunch for Betty now. It is cooold here at Lake Eufaula. Brrr. 🦨

Where did the Elves purchase it?
Powder Valley had a free shipping promo. Still not cheap but I am not letting a few bucks a pound deter me at this point. I just had the best year I have had in 17 years. You know, since just before the last recession. ; (. Seriously, I figure nothing is going to be getting any cheaper and I am looking to retire in the not too distant future and don’t want lack of components to be an issue.

Went out into the blizzard to shoot a plastic juice bottle. Thought I would try a .440 round ball and a silk patch. Used some cooking spray for lube. Found that with silk that thin, the ball went down with little resistance. Tossed the bottle out onto the snow/ice... about twenty yards. High winds, -7 degrees F. Fired one shot from the back porch. Bottle mortally wounded and bled out on the snow. It will have to wait for better weather for a proper burial 'cause I am NOT goin' out there!
My Dad used to say, you killed it, you skin it!

the kid brought down her rifle that was behind the door for 20 years,,she has others but forgot about this one,,never seen a mud wasp nest in the breech before,,,gonna ripe the hole thing apart an see if she brought me any other bugs from up state

It has warmed up to six degrees as of this morning. I swear I saw a woolly mammoth out there at the edge of the property before the sun came up. Might just take a .54 out there and look for tracks later on. Anybody recommend a load for wooly mammoths? I think mammoth hide would make for some good possibles bags.
