Hi all, I purchased a longrifle built in 1969. I have put calipers to the barrel and get 0.454 - 0.455. So my question is which size balls should I be using? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I would guess .440 with a .015 patch
I'd start with either a .440 or a .445 and a .015 to .018 (ticking) patch. I'd lean toward the .445. You might even try a .451 ball if a .445 loads too easily. I've got a .45 Green Mountain barreled gun that will load .451 balls without too much resistance, although use .445 when hunting.
