I bet the Alpaca wool will work just fine.
If you enjoy the smell of burning hair and don't wish a tight seal/much velocity, why not? You "can" use about anything for wadding and old-timers did. There are far better options.

I’ve used dog hair ant it works as good as hemp and tow, but did stink
