These are not genuine ivory but look pretty close. You can select the aging to match your pistol. They show the grain like genuine Ivory. They're made by Bar S Grips and called Tru Ivory. You send them your pistol and they custom fit them included in the price.

These were harvested from an elephant in the early 1970’s, when it was legal. Elephants are still harvested to this day up to two per year to control the population, and keep them from starving. This revolver was sold as having bone grips but I discovered through testing that they were not bone but actually ivory. Ivory can be legally owned, but not sold. Any antique pre 1940’s can still be sold.
