Anyone out there that can cut a side plate out of a bar of brass for me. Probably 1/4 or 3/8 in thickness. It will match a Pedersoli Bess flat plate that I’ll trace. I’m lacking a precision scroll saw.

And then round over the body edges (with a grinder) to look like the earlier rounded styles. I can do the final smoothing and bolt head area.

Any help is appreciated. PM me.

Thanks

As previously suggested, a jeweler’s saw is good option for a DIY project. Another option to consider is to modify an existing side plate. A good source is place like TOW. Do you have one of their catalogs? If not go online and you can print (make sure to print actual size, not a fit to your printer paper size) their full size photographs of side plates and you may find one that’s a close enough match to allow you to easily modify to fit your needs.

Thanks. I’ve done the retrofit before. May do it again. I’d prefer a exact fit so I’ll think I’ll give the jewelers saw a try.
