As you may know I am rather new to the whole ML thing and have stuck to handguns so far but am considering a rifle...even though I don't hunt...

That said, I have watched many YouTube vids and realizing what little I do know, many of the people who post videos on YT know even less.

Please suggest YT creators who are worth a watch.

For entertainment only, look up "smokeless powder in a muzzleloader" by Redneck Scientist. It is beyond amazing what a CVA Kentucky rifle can withstand. Again, entertainment only. The positive result is that it resolved any doubts I might have had about the safety of a few old Spanish guns that I have aquired.

I must admit I don't have any interest in pistols or breachloading videos. But whenever Mike (Duelist Den) uploads a flintlock video I'm straight on it. And generally watch them multiple times.

For entertainment it's hard to beat Mark at @B P Maniac Shooter I watch all his videos but especially love anything flintlock.

I somehow forgot Cap and Ball, he is great. That is to say anything and everything he puts up.

As someone who grew up in a city with almost no access to guns (outside of scouts) Duelist1954 was what helped me go from the hypothetical of wondering if i could get a muzzleloader because I am interest in history, to actually understanding how to do it and how to find the resources around the hobby.

Yes, most gun-writers are mostly entertaining also. Some of the guys mentioned by others here are OK. If looking for the best MLBP tech I would suggest finding a NMLRA state or national championship. Nice helpful people who will give you the best tech possible. You may even find a mentor in your area...c

I like Blackie Thomas if for nothing else, I put his videos on and I feel like I'm in a college class about percussion revolvers.

Duelist- Mike Bellevue is better from an actual shooting and using the guns angle.

I'm sure the others named are good too, plus I like Dr Nemeth - capandball

I'm tired of seeing idiots "unboxing" .44 Brassers and never shooting them or some clown blasting at tree stumps with a Pietta with no real value to any of it. I hate giving Views to an idiot who doesn't even know the proper terms for the parts of a gun , trying to tell me to put powder in my "cylinders " and "use grease or you'll get a chain fire because they used grease in the Civil War" or even worse, guys using .440 patched round balls in revolvers then getting an attitude when people correct them

Watching YouTube can be dangerous for people new to these guns , sometimes we meet the enemy and he is us

I just got back from Dunhams to pick up a few tins of CCI #11 caps to replace what I used recently, and the cashier told me some guy was just in here "buying about 20 of these " I'm like yeah they're probably on GunBroker for 20 a tin right now or it was someone following advice from YouTube from some guy telling people to buy all the caps they can find . We tend to eat our own in the shooting sports.

I won't even start about the countless videos from felons talking about using percussion revolvers as Tactical Weapons with nylon rigs and giving all kinds of bad info on "tuning them up" I'm like can I just enjoy a hobby without the felonious TactiFool meth heads making it feel dirty for me

Bellevue is horrible just repeats of the same old boring guns and beats his chest as black powder editor bla bla bla
Black Powder Manic is just silly and no one takes him seriously so he dont count. Capandball and blackie are the best.

Seriously.......are you serious ?

I have confidence you will learn what you need to learn and will do it well and safely. I can tell by the iron you ride.

Had to think about it, but I’d also add Hoffman Reproductions and Britishmuzzleloaders to the list.

Tons of it out there and tons of it junk.
Oh yes, Hoffman Reproductions is up there as well, excellent information as well as history. I do think I love muzzleloading is a close second or third to all of the above for his enthusiasm for the sport as young person.
