It is a very good book. I also bought mine in the early 80's at L.L. Bean in Freeport, Maine.
Haven't read that one yet. But it is now on the list. Thanks for the tip.
Excellent book, Mr. Hacker has been one of my favorite gun writers for decades. Honored to have a rifle he once owned.
I had a copy that Rick autographed for me. I read it several times as well over the years. Think I sold it on here.

There's also a 2nd revised edition out there, I believe it came out around 1990. Never read that one.
