Don't remember where I saw it but it seemed like all of the ready to go Woodsrunners are 54 so that could effect where we are on the list.

I was on the verge of ordering a .58 Colonial when the WR hit big. I opted for a .45 WR. The Colonial would have around 9lb. The WR is projected to be 8.5lb. My main concern was weight. As I don't shoot a lot, and it's always at paper, and saving powder and lead was also a concern the 45WR seemed a good choice. A 45 will do for all the game around here should I decide to hunt with it. I didn't place an order until September so I'll probably have a long wait, but I have plenty to keep me occupied. I'm looking forward to reading about other's builds.

Ordered mine in 54. Bought a beautifully figured cherry stock and had it shipped to Jim. Based on an email I received yesterday mine should ship in a few weeks (2 to 4) assuming all is well with the stock when they go to machine it. Tough to wait but it will be worth it.

If I could have a WR my first choice would be .54. I already have a fine flintlock in .50 and would like one in .54. Already have 4 .45s.

Thinking of ordering me one as well, I already have an early Lancaster in .54 that I made in the '80s and a Bob Watts NC Mountain rifle in .40...My .54 weighs about 9.5 pounds and at 67 a lighter .54 would be nice...In looking at similar originals from the Valley of Virginia it seems standard maple or walnut would be more in line with the originals...Problem is, we love curly maple!! Might check in this week and see if that helps on delivery time...

My 54 with fancy maple ships today, for you that wonder I ordered last fall and was told there were about 300 orders ahead of mine.
Now the rest of you have my permission to bother Kibler with questions or orders.:)
Hope I remember to check the porch before summer! :dunno:
