Where oh where can I buy a case to transport my 32" barrel Hawken flintlock? Don't need it for airline travel, just a case that I can use to take my assembled gun to and from hunting grounds or range. I don't like the possibility of dings by just laying it behind the truck seat unprotected. I would even use it to get through heavy growth en route on foot to my wildwood destination. Can't find one long enough to facilitate quick removal if needed. I'm thinking heavy leather, but cannot seem to find such an item. Like you, I hate to spend much money on something that ain''t exactly what I need. Too picky, I reckon, but I'm guessing someone here has had the same need and found an answer.
God bless.

My wife makes mine out of canvas and can make them as long as I need. I don't pad mine like others do but just having the cover on it seems to do a good job and it is quick and easy to remove. She leaves enough on the butt end to make a folded over flap that has a leather draw string in it for closure. kind of authentic and somewhat protective.

I think Kibler sells a case like your needing but they are sold out at the moment. 66" Flintlock Gun Case

A lady friend made one for me out of heavy camo flannel that I use a lot. Since all my rifles are 36" to 38" it works for all of them. Anything longer wouldn't fit. I have a leather case that I got back in the 1960s that will work for a few of mine but the rest have the architecture unsuited for it.

Midway has theyre own brand of gun/shot gun cases. The shotgun cases go up to 54in inside length. I just recently bought 3 of them on sale @ $20.00. They are thick and padded, with inside tie down straps to keep the gun from moving around. They are real nice cases.

Could be you could make your own.....Made this years ago from some bark tanned elk I did. This JBMR weighs a little over 10 pounds with a 35" barrel. On long hikes I use it.Never store it in though. The muzzle carries downward on it.Nothing overhead to catch on branches and stuff.

Went to goodwill, bought a $3 wool blanket, some fabric for the liner, and about 4 hours of sewing, a waterproof, open bottom for easy removal of the flintlock.
