I received my SMR kit in February 2022. After opening the box, I saw the quality and precision of the kit. I knew immediately this rifle was well designed and that only the slightest fitting of parts was necessary. Being my first flintlock and having little knowledge and even less understanding of its operation and design, I began a deliberately slow build, reading, studying, asking questions over forums, and learning as I progressed, making mistakes, stopping the build while learning how to correct them. I set the last pin on Monday evening, September 19, 2022, and tightened the last screw. I applied Briwax Tuesday afternoon, September 20, 2022. Some of you have provided encouragement and direction along the way. You have no idea how indebted I am to you. Attached are pictures of the finished Kibler SMR in .32 caliber. You will see flaws, I’m sure. But that’s okay because the builder has plenty of them also. Comments are encouraged. Now I will learn how to enjoy and safely and accurately shoot it!

Kibler fancy maple stock
Iron Nitrate stain
Permalyn sealer finish
Jax black metal finish rubbed back for aging
Light brown Briwax for protection

Very nice work. I'm hoping to get a Kibler SMR soon. I'm going to have to research your questions along the way.
