I do not know of very many hunters that vote democrat. The problem is only four or five counties voted for Cuomo, but they have the most people. NYC, Buffalo, Albany control everything the rest of NY vote Republican or Conservative. Look at or current jackass, Giving 300 mil to Buffalo to build a stadium where her hubby will rake in millions from it or giving millions in contracts to her campaign chest contributors. The midterms hopefully dump most dems.

That's because you are a virtue signaling Democrat and part of the problem...
No, unlike your agitator, troll self, I judge people on what they say, and also unlike yourself, it don't take a mental giant to see where this guys politics are, that and his liberal 4 H avatar speaks volumes.

Is that clear enough for you sweetheart?
You judge people on what they say in just a few posts on one topic, but in reality come in here and stink up the room with your verbal flatulence?

Go find a forum that actually cares what you think.

Black powder firearms are not a target of gun control initiatives, because they aren't even close to being a part of the cause of the horrendous number of firearm deaths in America.

Except the new law as written, specifically targets muzzleloaders and antique firearms, in addition to everything else.

From what I have been told, there is no exemption for muzzleloaders. If it fires a projectile it is a "firearm" period.
Not quite. Read the definitions NY Penal Law uses. It is convoluted and confusing, but "firearm" is a hangun, or a shotgun with a barrel length under 18" or a rifle under 16".

I went through and detailed it earlier in this thread.

Here is a history lesson on NY a factual one anyone can look up on the record. 2012 SAFE ACT CREATED magazine limit 7 rounds. The mag limit was appealed the court shot it down limit reverted to 10 rounds .Coumo never had the 7 round limit changed in the law to 10 so law enforcement can still charge a violation of 7 round limit. So unless muzzleloaders and reenactors are SPECIFICALY EXEMP in writing they are included in the new law

section says it all being capable of expelling a projectile by explosive force that's bullet shot or ball

I wonder if a hand made wood case would be considered secure

If that wood case has a lock on it that prohibits you from using the gun without unlocking the case.... most likely.

Like you are going to swing a 42" barrel flintlock musket around and out the car window to do a drive by shooting with it.
Most likely would set the car's interior a blaze lol

Or, y'all could nominate and run Constitutionalist representation that appeals to all but the most radical leftist base of lunatics, get them elected, and flip that blue to red.

I dunno, maybe the wooden gun case would be less painful <sarc>.......

If it is hidden ,how would anyone know? And to search would that not require a search warrant ? And exactly what would you be doing other than robbing a bank to get that level of attention? Or just tell them you just crossed the border and wanted sanctuary and they will send you on a fancy vacation all expenses paid by the folks already
here ! /Ed
I live in Ohio. To activate my drivers license I have to sign it. There is a clause that states something like this, 'upon signing this you hereby give authorization for any law officer to search your vehicle at any time'. --- This is not an exact quote. But it summarizes the Ohio law. If I don't sign it, I would not have a valid license. By signing it I give full authorization to have my vehicle searched. So, other states may have the same law and thus no search warrant would be needed.

Talked to a relative in NYS that’s in law enforcement. The ‘unofficial’ word in their unit is to let sleeping dogs alone for now unless an obvious public safety situation or there has been a complaint, in which case they are to let the courts settle things. Said things are dynamic and changing shift to shift. Big fear is someone will make a complaint just to complain. Can not be ignored no matter what the anticipated changes may be or what common sense may want one to think.

Very sad to have witnessed the irreversible decline of the Empire State. The empowerment of political kooks as well as oppressive taxation and government regulation encourages good citizen to move out. I attended many trail walks and shooting events in NY and overheard many participants expressing a desire to move, while stating their reluctance to leave their grandchildren behind. I knew very few young shooters in NY, thus most gunowners were old timers. Shooters in New York were like Orthodox Catholics in the former Soviet Union. Old and lonely. For the most part their children and grandchildren had no more interest in firearms than young communists had in religion. New York is an overwhelmingly blue state and the chances for positive change are illusory. Politics in NY is a secular religion. A believer can never persuade a skeptic of their faith, nor be deterred from their belief by the doubts of unbelievers. As skeptical and critical as I am of New York's faith in the Democrat party, I believe the majority will continue to support it, and as long as they do, their state will continue to deteriorate.

I guess I don't get all of the hate for NYS. Yes, I get that the politics suck, but as a transplant, I absolutely love it here. I'm in Upstate, in Saratoga County. As a lover of nature and history, NYS is a total treat. There's a ton of state ground to hunt, beautiful rural country with wonderful people who actually welcome hunters, a lot of great hiking and paddling options. On top of that we have all of the amazing history surrounding the founding of this country from the first settlements, the French and Indian War and the American Revolution. Also, being close to major cities like Boston, Montreal, and yes, even NYC is really nice if I want to treat my wife to a weekend trip to the city. Above all, I've discovered that my favorite place in the world is right next door in Vermont. I try to make a trip over there anytime that I can.

I guess I've never been one to get wrapped up in politics or let politics cloud my view things. It will be what it will be, I'll do my duty, cast my vote and move on with what I'm given. Complaining and being bitter have never done much for me other than to leave me bitter and complaining. To each their own though, I hope we all find our little piece of happiness.
Yeah, half of everything I own firearm related is illegal in NYS....

Don

I don't see voicing your dislike for NYS and it's hard left politics as "pissing and moaning.". Nor do i think that by voicing those opinions, I'm doing nothing but complaining. The skipping through life telling myself all is right with the world cuz at least for today I have a few rights available to, won't fix anything.

I have lived here my whole life. I have watched the city/county where I live decay into a cess pool of drugs and criminals and non producers content to accept the scraps that government gives them.

I've watched farms get covered up by our planning boards and their industrial parks offering minimum wage jobs. Now I'm watching farms get covered up by solar panels.

My modest house on 1 acre costs me 13% of my net annual income, just to keep the government from taking my house. Saratoga county has lower property taxes overall due to the horse racing track generating millions in revenue for the county. That don't need to fleece property owners.... Yet.

Unfortunately, the problem is not just with the D party in NY. Our last R governor was far from a conservative, and if you think back to his reign, our first gun limiting legislation in decades came out of his office, a ban on mags over 10 rounds.

The R party in NY is almost as tax and spend crazy as the D party. That's how politicians stay in business, take $ from this group and give it to that group.

I don't know what the answer is, but I don't think it's the goober in the Whitehouse, or the orange haired real estate developer who was in the Whitehouse, or either of their parties. Politics is a filthy corrupt business just simply doesn't benefit the average person. If you have your hand out for scraps or cash to support your business development, then it works for you. Always wondered why tax payers have to be the ones to foot the bill for a new sports stadium so the team owner can take in millions from the games at the stadium. What a world.

Police don't arrest criminals either now. You can think or believe muzzleloaders are not included but I'll Wait to see it in the CPL or see it signed with Hochul's paw print .Just because you believe doesn't make it so
Never trust what you "hear" etc If you can not find it in "official" documentation etc the actual law, then it does not exist. IMHO the Police will stop you and will consider you as breaking the law if you have a ML. Heresay is useless. The Police will do exactly as they are told IMHO

In NYS neither party can be counted on to save the 2ndAmend. IMHO
