oh thats where that D went, when i was posting , my screen reader had a d there and i couldnt figure where it came from but you found it,

the spelling is canid: so research alexander the great, and the wars he had against a race of beings who walked like men but had heads of wolves and dogs. adults standing between 7-12 foot tall and weighing in between 400-1200 pounds .
moving at speeds upto 60 miles an hour and can keep up that speed for some time, hours its been reported.

strong enough to twist a polar bears neck and toss it like last weeks garbage.

from personal experience strong enough to rock an rv almost over and when i looked at the spot it had placed its (handlike , think raccoon but more robust) there was a hand print in the metal of the side of the rv , about a foot higher than my hand would reach.(i am 6'5" . the first two didgits (they are all clawed, thick wide claw that comes to a triangular curved point. hard as brass.

well the first two didgits went into the metal , and i realized that it could have come through the side of the rv any time it had wanted to.

fur colors have a multitude of range from black to blue merl, and tan red b brown ect.

the one i came close to in 2004 had the head of a wolf. but that is not the only kind that have been reported.
some have body structure with legs like a humanoid, and others hocks like a dog, the one i encountered had hocks , shoulders around 3and a half to 4 foot wide and the chest cavity was at least 18 inches thick. id hazard a guess at 450lbs.and around 7ft 6inches at the ears, .
you asked what a canid is, well there ya go. its a werewolf looking thing and they are becomming more prevalent and moving in closer to cities.

i think they are controlling the coyote packs, but that is knowledge i gained from another encounter and experience altogether.

any questions?

hmmm, think you are mistaken. thanks for the spelling of re-enactors, my screen reader does not spell for me.

so yeah i spell pretty horribly. so i wouldnt disrespect someone over spelling. it was my own spelling mistake , i lost the d in canid. no one else but me. so when i am making a dig at that i was making a dig at myself. not you or anyone else.
smiles you keep thinking its not a re-enactor forum for civil war enthusiast.
dont matter how long you been here , it is what it is and the forum rules are made in such a way to promote the mental outlook of times long past(and that may be a great thing, who knows).
i wont argue that with you nor will i bother with your trying to start an argument when none is
NECESSARY.(see i can go get the spelling of a word if i am not sure.
why dont you use the sites search and type civil war re-enactments , and just see what shows up. smiles

It has nothing to do with this specific forum but across all forums and other platforms Ive noticed a general lack of folks who seem they cant do any research on there own, but always asking for information that is readily available with a few minutes if not seconds of search ! Are they lazy ? I really dont know as much if they have become to attached to what ever device they use and expect someone to immediately answer the question .

Have you ever considered that the fact the asked HERE is research and they apparently put more faith in us old timers then the encyclopedia internet? I welcome dumb questions. I always been one of the best at asking them.

I taught chemistry & physics…Trust me, I’ve been asked some pretty dumb questions.

I’ve learned that I can fix “Ignorance”; I fixed that condition every day, of every week, for over 20 years. I have never been able to fix ”Stupid”. I’m a heretic for even using that word…it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I love this place because of all the merging opinions. I’ve seen ignorance, I’ve been apart of it…from time to time.

But I don’t see stupid, stupid is not part of this place.
Pardon my opinion, I always thought teachers and professors were some of the stupidest SOB's on the planet. Several on this forum have made me start to grant leway to that opinion. You are spot on most the time! Bravo! No stupid teachers have been noted here BTW

….Love you man.

I'm kinda new here and kinda old and have been at this sport off and on for over 40 years. And Lord knows I've learned a lot from this forum as I used it as a reference long before I joined. But I also have books, which I read. And even at my age I know how to do an internet search for something. So I see both sides of this. I agree there's no such thing as a stupid question as long as its genuine, but I do wonder at what apparently are poor research skills. Anyway, its still a great place to learn.

I don't gig folks for asking questions that have already been answered simply because they may not be aware of the search function and I don't mind helping them. If their spelling and punctuation are not perfect, then they fit right in with me. If I see snarky remarks from folks I usually do a preemptive strike and block or ignore those folks. It saves a lot of heartburn for me in the long run. Scrolling on by doesn't cost a thing and my goal on any forum or group is to learn and help when and where I can. I won't tolerate rude behavior very well.

I too put the snarky people on ignore, same with people who are only here to sell items.

Been around guns since I was a little tyke, black powder types for only 15 or so, handloading for 50, cast bullets for 30 or so. No expert but was fairly efficient at it before the miracle of the internet. Learned by reading every book on the subject I could find and the practical application of that knowledge. Still the day is brighter if I learn something new. Browsing the forums and their threads and replies is like reading a book and frequently I will learn something new.

Not everyone seems gifted in how to do research on the internet. Some just can’t quite get how to ask the right questions with the search engines. Nor look through the forum topics to see if someone else asked the same question already. Plus maybe they trust the old timers in the forums more than the internet too.

What frustrates me is someone trying to ask a question but they go on a long rambling monologue and never ask the question. Worse is when they leave out all punctuation and grammar structures too.

A few years ago someone asked me a question about how to do something. So I wrote up a step by step guide for the answer. The fellow replied back asking if I would do a detailed video about it as he didn’t want to read about it.

I think a lot of it is the poor education system we have today. The schools are teaching kids to be social warriors but not how to read, write or do math anymore. I really do not know how they are going to make a living other than joining the welfare ranks.

would anyone have suggestions for a shooting forum that both discusses the bp issues but also allows modern issues? nope i dont wish to offend the rules anymore here, but a good suggestion would help me take an unmentionable to a forum it wouldnt be shunned at, thanks.
Our 'sister' forum ModernMuzzleloader would be close to what you say you want.

I will have to admit that the search engine on the Forum is rather clunky at best. I have yet to be able to do a search where only the search topics I was looking for were displayed. Often it is a real adventure to get the search question correct so I get the results I was hoping for. I have used the Forum's search engine to answer some of the many asked questions to be able to provide a much more detailed and thoughtful answer. Yes, it can be sort of frustrating when I see some of the same questions being asked since I joined this Forum. While the questions may be familiar to us, we are seeing the question coming from someone new to the experience. So, it is often best to just answer the question and be as helpful as we can. Sometimes we try to add a bit of humor, but the keyboard defeats our expression and in the reading of the answer comes off as snippy or insulting.

Time to sort of get back to the topic. Is the extremely fine 9f powder faster than 4f? Yes, it is. Is it worth trying to either make such fine powder or find it? Probably not. That answer depends on the need for that extremely fast pan powder. For my King's Musket, any pan powder that can set off the main charge is good from 1Fg to 4f. Any delays in main charge ignition and I can't really tell the difference in speed of ignition or performance. Full disclosure, I still have a lot of practice to do to improve my accuracy on target with the King's Musket. In a match where placement can depend on the furthest impact from target center, an extremely fast pan powder and ignition of the main charge can make a difference. Where one is doing a woods walk where accuracy is required to minute of steel target, then the powder used for the main charge is adequate. In that case, sufficient practice to hold through any delays, slight or longer, is the deciding factor.

Um,,,, I'd like to know who and when anyone said anything was a "stupid question?"

There is a whole lot of stuff going on in this country and in this world to get all y'all's panties in a wad about,,,, and your all going on like this over a joking observation.... 🙄
Your gift is “Directness”

With love brother, the threads title and opening narrative suggested it. 😜

yup , we all going to need each other to figure out a new way of doing things once the current system colapses. so separating the non-team players and tossing them into a group called :possibilities of leadership. and we give them all their choice of mideval weapon and put them all in the same room. only one mindset should be allowed to leave that room, be it one person or a group with like mind. and the team players should decide what kind and how much athority to let them have(knowing what we have all just suffered our whole lives).
and for goodness sake the amendments that keep our rights safe should be in the main body of any new constitutional document.

course none of it will matter till things fall tottally into disrepair. that is comming though. blessings to all of you

It isn't how it was intended.
It was just funny to me that right there in front of one's face, multiple sources of answers to choose from.
No "clunky" search feature needed.
I’m guilty, open a thread read the preamble then jump to the end with my own comments. With out reading several other posts. 😒
