What grade wood would you all rate this Kibler? Maple, Fancy Maple, or Extra Fancy Maple? Thanks!

I would grade it between fancy and extra fancy - the picture may not tell the true grade but there is a lot of curl in it.

The wonderful thing about wood grades are there are no standards! One source may call a stick of wood fancy but another May call the same one extra fancy or plain. Jim has three grades and another place can have six grades. Either way that’s a nice stock!

Out of the three maple grades available(standard, fancy, extra fancy), looks like the fancy($125) grade based in various rifles I have observed.

I'm thinkin' Fancy. Let's see what the peanut gallery say! :)

I would agree "Fancy" it looks like mine.

Tough call with that one, considering how Kibler grades using only 3 grades, Fancy being up to 65% curl and Extra fancy 65% and up.
Sure look's like more than 65% to me,,

Fancy! Individual builders may grade woods differently. The top rifle is what I received when I asked for "plain"; on the bottom is #2 out of 4 grades. So yes, fancy.

Thank you all, that's all I needed!

Looks fancy but I never understood this fascination over stripes. Now birds eye and quilted really catch my eye

it all boils down to a solid stick of wood carved out to fit gun parts on it, the look is just bonus points really

:)
the fancy wood for me is like dressing a good looking woman in fine clothes.
and remember Cynthia, i have met you and know you like fine clothes!:ghostly:

Definitely 'fancy' grade! Jim does a phenomenal job on his wood. Or maybe I should better state that his wood vendor does!

I ordered fancy for the Colonial rifle I'm making and giving to my best friend and there's incredible stripes on the entire length!
