i went to an auction sat. 2 miles from my house, been going there for years. they had this little box there. i saw the protentional! i waited in 95 degrees and 100& humidity in our SC sun for over 2 hours till they got to this item in a line of junk. i meant to get it no matter the coast! the bidding started at 5 bucks; my hand went up! and it was the only hand that went up! i got it for five dollars! i got it home and took it to my gun room and started to clean and wipe it down. in the bottom corner i found an old fishhook and real small line swivel. then i realized this had been somebody's homemade tackle box! then i made a new leather hand strap out of a vintage horse rein, View attachment shooting box 2 (1).JPGView attachment shooting box 2 (11).JPGView attachment shooting box 2 (2).JPGView attachment shooting box 2 (3).JPGView attachment shooting box 2 (4).JPGView attachment shooting box 2 (5).JPGView attachment shooting box 2 (6).JPGView attachment shooting box 2 (7).JPG it looks to me to be around the 30s-40s era. well, it found a good home! and a new use. you can click on attachments to see, i have no idea why they don't just show on this page, maybe the photos are to large,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I just finished building this. It's crude compared to what's above, but it should work. White ash from a tree the power company dropped on the edge of my property. Still have a bunch of slabs from it

Look fine, similar to mine that I used for decades. Only downside, the bigger they are the more stuff you will put in it. Mine got to the point where I had to install a V-8 engine and wheels to move it around. Well.......almost. 😉 I downsized to a plastic tackle box and it is more better on my shoulders when carrying.

A friend of mine uses a big plastic shoe box. If you need it, he has it, but it'll take half the day to find it. I compartmentalized my box to be able to separate stuff. On the bottom, the dividers will hold round powder cans, or the square old goex or graf's BP at an angle. Behind that go the patches for fowlers, priming horn and 2 powder horns. Top tray has cleaning jags, patch worms, ball pullers, lube, short starters etc on the left and smaller patches for my rifles on the right .

I like the brass corner pieces on the box above, may look in to doing that.
