I recently bought a Parker hale Enfield. It's not in original condition as modern sights have been fitted. Still it's in great shape, except the bore.

It was clearly shot and not cleaned. I new the bore was rusty but the more I cleaned it the worse it looked. It has gone beyond my ability to fix so now I need suggestions. Rebarrel? Rebore? And who can do this?

I seek the wisdom of the camp.

Try lapping the barrel. Pour molten lead down barrel to make an exact fit once cooled. Pull it out with a rod. Get as clean as you can first though. It can prove difficult if pitting is rough.

Mr. Bobby Hoyt, the current modern master of relining, reboring, etc., of muzzleloaders.

My friend had the same problem. Someone gave him a Traditions found in a trash can. The guy who made the kit left the wood in the square---UGLY! I redid it and finished it for him. The bore is rusty so I used Scotch brite in it and JB bore paste. It shoots pretty good.
