New, Unfired Austin & Halleck Flintlock Mountain Rifle, 50 Caliber Halfstock. Hooked breeck/removable barrel. Barrel is 33" x 1". 13 3/4" length of trigger pull, 3 1/2" drop at the heel, 48 1/2" overall length. Even though it is new and unfired, it has a couple of safe rash marks on the stock. The frizzen is secure when in firing position, but has some play at the forward rest position. I've never handled another one of these rifles, so don't know if that is normal for them. Rifle is fully functional in terms of lock sparking and double set triggers operating normally. New, but no box or paperwork. $800 plus actual shipping.
Thanks
Dave

I had one and it has a full bore to the breech, not a patent breech. The one I had was made at the original state/address, and it was a fantastic rifle!

Very reliable, sparked well and was accurate and quite handy. I like them so much better than a Lyman or T/C! I only sold it as it was right-handed and I’m a lefty and I am acquiring all left-handed arms now.

But WHAT IS UP With that funky ‘space’ shown between the cock and frizzen? Right above where the lock bolt shows.

Can we get a ‘top view’ photo of that area please? Mine didn’t look like that …

Looks like the receiving end of the hooked breech.

When you get a chance, Dave, could one of those photos have a card or piece of paper adjacent to the rifle showing your screen name and the date, please? Thanks.

LD
I'll get it this afternoon when I get back. Forgot, not being uncooperative, though I do remember a seller that got about 3000 hits by being non compliant!

1in66 twist. Marked Provo, Utah, Made in Spain. More pics to answer questions. Sheet with name and date.
Dave
