as the original poster I'm clueless as well. I will assume at least the /00 and the /01 is the year 2000 and 2001. I'm sure someone else can enlighten up more.
I tried one pound of Elephant years ago. It's the dirtiest powder i have ever shot. I do wish I had kept the empty can to display on the wall.
We used it and it was alright, dirty, yes but no real bad issues. it was cheap, and in Maine we are cheap bastards! The empty cans are worth $10.00, collectible.

Depending upon just what you have, I might be willing to trade some "good stuff" (Goex) for a couple of cans.

When the quality of GOEX nosedived in 1997 after the move to Minden LA I used Elephant powder which worked very well for me in a slug rifle. I had to use more of it (220 grains instead of 160 grains) but accuracy was excellent. I clean between shots so "dirty" fouling rmeant little to me, though I don't remember it being particularly troublesome. Still have some of it I will likely use next year.
