I use Ballistol as the last step after cleaning to put my rifles away until next time. Works great. However, it’s not locally available but Barricade is. I have not used it but bought a can. Is it ok for short term lubed storage and easy to patch out before next session?

Barricade works well for long term and short term storage. Never had a problem cleaning before shooting. Only problem for me is I cant get it locally have to order on line.

I use it and have used it since it was known as Sheath…several years back now
Great protectant 👍

When I was still working I had some Muzzleloaders that were stored in a gun safe with a dehumidifier rod for over 7 years that were protected with Barricade…
Not one speck of rust anywhere..😎👍

I’m a believer 👍👍👍

I use Barricade as well and would even say I find it superior to Ballistol, as far as rust protection goes.
No worries using it. It doesn't take much and dries to a protective film, don't have to leave the rifle bore down for more than a couple days to keep it from migrating into the flame channel.
I will swab it out with alcohol before a range session, but often leave it when loading up for hunting. It does seem to require a few more cleaning patches if I've left it in the bore and then shot, but that's the only difference I've noticed. No loading troubles or accuracy changes with it left in the bore.

Barricade is the greatest most stupendous lubricant & rust preventative ever invented in the history of mankind. No other products are effective & should not be considered for use in ANY firearms. I can't believe gun owners got by with no uncorrectable corrosion & rust problems for centuries without this miracle product. Thank God it is available today.

It sounds like a "dry" lube going down the barrel, is that normal? Similar to an alcohol patch, like a squeegee on a window only much louder. There is no sound with the Ballistol, just like you'd expect oil to be on metal. Was not expecting a sound like pushing a dry cork down the barrel...
