I am so glad that I found Here, on this forum, the right rifle for me to begin my flintlock: ownership, shooting, hunting experiences with!
This site has been so enjoyable ever since I first became active on it.
The motivation to send in my volunteer supporter payment was something that I felt very quickly.
Tonight my rifle was presented for sale by martin9, and in about six minutes I committed to buying it and sent the payment!

congratulations you are starting out on the right foot.

now you done it!
first the rifle, then the shooting bag and a custom horn!
next a pan priming horn. a patch knife and a vent pick!
followed by learning to knap your own flints!
finally the addiction will lead you to making your own powder, casting your own balls, walking the aisles of JoAnn's fabrics with a set of calipers measuring material thickness.
final stages will be 2-10 more rock scratchers in various flavors.
Beware all ye that enter these gates.

sweet ride ain't it?!!!!

Just a word of advice you did not ask for: Flintlocks are very much like a fine beautiful woman! Treat them with respect, loving care, and most of all pay attention to details. Keep the TH clean, wipe the flint and frizzen after each shot, sharp flint etc. You will not be disappointed!
Enjoy your new rifle!

That rifle is gorgeous IMO, not very nice but GORGEOUS! You are in for it now, and it will have siblings within a year or so, trust me.

Flintlocks are NOT "ol' timey" rifles; they are for the true hunter and not for the spray & pray crowd. I caution everyone about fooling with flintlocks: "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here"!

One of the best things I learned to do when loading and shooting flintlocks was to Slow Down. I started out hunting and shooting with old single shot shotguns and rifles as a kid. But I always really wanted a flintlock. When I grew up, I spent several years in the military learning to shoot fully automatic weapons and doing all the tactical spray and pray/multiple magazine/quick reload stuff.

Then I got into, or back into traditional muzzleloaders. I realized that slowing down reduced errors, increased accuracy and made the whole experience more enjoyable. Have fun and welcome!
