i was walking around at a car show / swap meet this mourning, picked up a rusty little cannon off a table. i thought it was a toy till i felt the weight and saw rifling in the bore. asked the guy how much, he said $3.00 it was mine . got home cleaned it up [light rust] saw black powder only on it and knew i had scored. just googled around and found it to be a cva ol ironsides.. made my day :thumb:

Can't help w/the actual dimensions, but you can work them out by comparing it to other parts in the kit.

Memories, the first black powder anything I ever shot.And I almost shot myself with it.I had a piece of sheet iron for a backdrop and it bounced right back at me. I heard it whiz by my ear.Oh,be sure and anchor it as it will go flying.

glad it missed ya. i sure plenty of bb's came back at us as kids shooting at a hard flat object. [ dont ask me how i know] o_O
 
they can be deadly. so be careful with them. mine when it goes off does several cartwheels!! so stand off to the side after lighten the fuse!

Using the proper size load of black powder so the recoil appears more realistic helps with how it looks. And is a lot safer also. Loading them up just makes them look like a toy. If you or your friend get hurt and go to the hospital, lie about what happened so black powder cannons do not get the bad publicity.
