Started working on tuning up the L&R replacement lock on my Dixie rifle. Thing never has worked right since I got it, it would be a neat rifle if it would go off every time. Hopefully I can get it to that point.

Saturday the 16th we had our clubs spring turkey shoot. About 15 shooters, aged from about 15 up to old and grizzled. Snow and sleet in the morning, clearing to just damp and dark later, but we all had a good time. I am a newby to the shoots. Starts with 50 yard benchrest, then split the card, smoke the chalk, silhouettes for furthest shot, balloon pop then turkey head silhouette. I was pleased to win the bench rest , but was annoyed that I didnt win the turkey head...I have a tough time seeing the outline and was aiming the wrong spot. I was shooting the t/c Renegade i picked up last summer. I reworked the trigger a bit and installed a Williams target aperture, which was a world of dfference from the horrible stock rear sight.
The best part about the day was that the prizes (all frozen turkeys) were all well spread out among shooters, with our youngest shooter 100 yard silhouette) and only lady shooter splitting two cards) both winning . What was best was a bunch of like minded guys just getting out and having harmless fun together, all getting along.
I am looking forward to cooking my Butterball over the camp fire this summer for some friends.

glued the base papers on 50 Hahn Sharps tubes
Bore sighted the Sharps Sporting Rifle to check alignment on the new front and rear sights.
Looked good so I will shoot groups in the morning.
Took a nap

I’m a step a head of you i cast 200 sharps rounds then loaded 100 Hahn’s tubes that alread had the paper on them.
Also cast 50 ea of 69 and 72 cal RB than 250 ea of 45 an 358.
non MZ replanted my mailbox.
Didn’t get to nap went to bed instead.

Today I shot a new acquisition for the first time. She's a keeper.
It seems to like the 250 gr Saeco.

Today I shot my new Frontier flintlock. 4th outing with it. Finally things are starting to click. Only 1 hang-fire and I know why, no more after that. No flinching, better focus on target and holding after the shot. I was trying to just relax and shoot. I think my sights are ok, was a little worried about the front brass one I put on it, but I think it's going to be fine.

50 yds off hand, MUCH happier today with this target. Can I shoot my April contest target over again? :)

Since the previous thread was shut down (locked) by our new moderator, I thought I would start one up again, as per the suggestion.
So, let's get this thread going again, and share your muzzleloading related adventures of the day!
Continueing to go thru, keep, throw out my BP accessories. Trying to figure out the thread size of my 32 cal. rifle cleaning jag/ram rod as it is same size as my 45 cal Rifle, have a 45 cal jag but not a 32 cal. I have one (32)but tread size is too small for ram rod. and need to order larger size thread. Do any of you know is it 8/32 or 10/32 which is larger?

Put my CVA .54 mountain rifle back together today. I stripped, stained, and linseed oiled (four coats,0000 steel wool in between each coat) the stock. Cleaned the rusty barrel and furniture. Then browned everything except the lock plate. Came out real nice for a $250 rifle.

Continuing work transitioning the cabinet grade woods from our pedestal bed decommissioning into a rifle building workbench for the pending Kibler Colonial project. Since the boy moved out into his own home, his computer gaming room is now MY gun room!
