Hello everyone, here is a recent build. It is Lancaster inspired, but by no means did I copy any preexisting rifles, I prefer using my own imagination once I establish what basic shape I want the gun to be. .50 GM barrel, moderately fancy curly maple, and a simple set trigger. The butt plate was slightly bent out of whack but by the time I caught that it was a little too late, it still doesn't take away from the appearance IMO, but to each is own. I tried some very simple engraving on this one, been practicing a lot more of that thought lately.

Well, I think you did an excellent job with that build. It's a well crafted, very fine looking rifle I'd be delighted to own.

Excellent work. It's a lot more fun to build something with your own ideas incorporated. I like the Lancaster school myself and am working on a transition rifle between the Lancaster and the plains style but it sure won't have the nice carving or engraving on it as is on yours. I don't have the patience and probably don't have the ability. Good Job!

Thank you! I've always been a Lancaster fan, something about the shape of the butt stock just does it for me, and I very much appreciate the compliments, hope to see that rifle posted up here soon!

Beautifully designed and executed. The long, graceful lines of the Lancaster school are my favorite. We are looking forward to a range report.
