I have just got a new Navy and the wedge is sticking out a bunch on the left side of the frame and only just comes to the edge of the right side of the frame. Just looks odd. Otherwise the pistols looks great. I did use a close pin and removed the wedge and tapped it back in with a slight tap of a rubber hammer. My Walker’s wedge doesn’t stink out as far. Just looking for any option. Thanks in advance!

My Piettas all just barley clear the right side and man are they tight.

As long as the wedge draws everything up tight without binding the cylinder you are OK but I can understand your not liking it sticking out so far. I have a number of Piettas in which the lug goes through enough that the spring latches on the frame or almost does and an equal number in which the wedge only comes flush with the right side. If it bothers you take a file and carefully remove metal from one face of the wedge or the other till it goes in (not much) further. Touch it up with some cold blue and it won't affect the function at all. I have two Pietta 60 Armys, consecutive serial numbers, on one the wedge is flush on the right and the other it's far enough through the spring is on the verge of snapping over the edge of the lug. All the parts have a manufacturing tolerance, a maximum and minimum size, and when they start assembling guns a maximum wedge in a minimum slot just won't go in as far and it doesn't take much.
Hawkeye2 thanks for your suggestions. For now I'll probably just leave it as is. Maybe after I shoot it I'll make the adjustment. This is my first Pietta and for the money I'm happy so far.

With suppliers having difficulty, be happy you have the revolver. And inflation
is jacking up the prices of everything. The wedge won't be noticed except by you.

I've got quite a few open top smoke-wagons, and it seems to me the wedges fit each of them just a little bit different. Really almost an art rather than a science, as far as the fit.

A wedge isn't exactly a precision fastener.
Doesn't need to be. Tight is tight and that's it's job . . . holding the barrel assembly tight against the arbor. So, it's "right" wherever it
ends up (tight) until it bottoms out and you need another.
That non-precise part can maintain a .0015" endshake on an open top revolver.
