One Achilles Heel is the base pin, Fail to pay attention to the cross bolt lock on it and it’s easy to have it back out and bend right at the notch when ramming a ball home in a chamber. I bent one when I first started shooting them.
That’s never happened to me (yet…) but I’ve heard of it. The rest of the guns action is, like any Ruger, way over engineered. I think old Bill Ruger said to his team, “Let’s build the worlds first and only foolproof percussion revolver!” And then the world answered back with new and improved foolishness! 😁 Don’t forget to lock the base pin and it truly is a foolproof revolver…

The story is that the engineers built it to withstand a full cylinder of unique, compressed with a ball, and it was actually tested at that. At the time, duplexing was all the thing, but people were blowing up the italian guns.

My apologies, I’ll update the card in the morning…

I find myself in the awkward position of having too many of these! This one is a very nice condition Ruger. Doesn’t seem to have many miles on it and none by me since I took it in trade. I’m asking $825 shipped and I prefer USPS money orders. Thanks for looking.

That is very nice. I have one and they are built like tanks. I think you are very fare on price.

How is the bore (cylinder and barrel)? How is the lock up? On a scale of one to 10 how mechanical sound is it and how clean has it been kept? My son wants one for his bday and I would rather buy nib but sometimes used happens.

Also are you known on here and honest and not scamming?
Never mind, looked up your profile you've been here long enough.

To all who were interested. I accepted an offer from jimbob on Sunday. I did not post this as I’m traveling to bury my sister. I truly apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. It’s been a rather hectic few days. The money order should arrive here this week and I will ship as soon as I return home. Moderators please mark this one sold.
