Anyone know where I can get a .62 cal rifle built ?

As the thread title suggests I am looking to get a .62 caliber Flintlock rifle made up. I want it to have a 47" or 48" barrel and maybe a 1/66 or 1/72 twist rifling. Anyone know any gunsmiths who are selling or making rifles like this or anyone have a .62 cal they are willing to sell ? I can't really get any good leads right now. Gunbroker has nothing, Jim Chambers says he doesn't have a stock long enough to support a .62 cal barrel past 42" so my barrel would go out past the stock by about 6" I would rather it go past at 1.5"-2". Cabin Creek Muzzleloaders Website doesn't work and Kibler doesn't make a barrel longer than 44" and a caliber larger than .58 cal. I'm kinda drawing blanks here so if I could get some help or be steered in the right direction I would be very grateful.

I bought a 51" x .62cal. rifled barrel from B. Hoyt a few months ago. You could try him. I don't think he's a member here but he is at ALR. You could site message him from over there.

Thanks 51" .62 sounds right up my alley to be fair, Do you have any pictures of it ? That is if you are okay with sharing images of it.

I have one finished that I would sell, but it has a 42" barrel. PM me if interested.

Do not know where in Maryland you are located, but Ft Chambers muzzle loading shop in Chambersburg Pa. gave me my lead too a builder in Harrisburg Pa. had a Christian Springs rifle built in left hand a fellow named Berry was the builder very satisfied with the rifle. it is a .62 cal. 1 in 66 twist and shoots round ball very good. Also Jim the owner of the shop usually has rifles for sale, might be worth the trip.

If you can wait 3 years you can get lots of builders to take it on and have time to get the barrel made. Any less than that is unlikely.

I commented that as a joke I guess and I asked for some pictures because to be honest I didn't think they made a gun that long. If that is the comment you are referring too.

I bought a .62 caliber Baker Rifle kit from the Rifle Shoppe, and am very happy with it.

The way I went was to have rifling cut in a 32" Green Mountain .62 smooth bore drop-in barrel for Thompson Center flintlocks. That length of barrel with that large of a bore actually makes the piece handle quite nicely. With round ball 120 grains of FFg chronos at well over 1500FPS.
I understand that not what you're wanting. Just putting the info out there as an alternative route in case things don't work out for you.

I'm sorry but I found the tag from the barrel & it's a .605" bore not a .62 cal. with gain twist. However, if you contact Bobby Hoyt he can fix you up with what you are looking for.

I just bought a 46", 62 cal. Swamped barrel Barrel at another forum. Barrel is from Bob Burton (FCI barrels) and is coned at the muzzle by the barrel maker. A rifle always starts with a barrel, the rest is comparatively easy.
Large queen ann lock will probably go well with it or a larger early Jaeger lock, depending on the desired trigger.
Stock plank from Gunstocks+, Dunlap or ?.
Put a wanted ad on the forums for such a long stock.
There are no precarves for rifles this long.
Other furnature can be home made or bought.
Builder: an accomplished builder will be able to assemble a rifle with all parts on hand in about 60-100 hours, depending on style and adornments.
If you have all parts on hand, it will be easier to find someone, because some builders cannot work on projects, when they wait on parts.
