Last year I assembled a kit gun that my Dad purchased many years ago, probably at K Mart. After assembly I took it to the range for a very cold winter day test session. I haven't had it out since then.
So last week was warm and dry and I got out to the gun range. After shooting in this month's members postal contest with my rifle I decided to try the pepperbox again.
Loading is tricky. You need to keep track of which barrels are now loaded. I used 10 grains of FFF under a .350 RB and a PT patch.
I stood about 7 feet from the target and shot from the hip.
3 shots landed in or near the neck area. This would definitely cause someone a bad day.
The 4th shot I lowered my poa-such as it was.
To say this is a bad breath distance weapon is an understatement.

And I noticed a very pretty weed growing on the range as well.

God makes some beautiful things.

I fire both my original 1837 Allen & Thurber .31 caliber Pepperbox and my 1845 Allen & Thurber .31 caliber Pepperbox... in fact one will be featured on a FoxNation show now scheduled to air next February 2022 on President's Day...
