To not take away from BullRunBear's Slixshot thread ..I was having problems with cap fragging/jamming on my new Uberti 1860 Army ..I had a keeper pin come out of the ram latch clip ..so I caller the shop I bought it from and he sent me to the importer which immediately agreed to warranty it ..since it was going to a good representative of the mother ship I also detailed the severe cap frag and apparent hammer rebound that was occurring
I sent it on a Monday and received it back the following Monday ...
The invoice detailed "Drift Pin Install" ...."Hammer Spring Install" ....Labor ....shipping ...zero charge

There is a noticeable difference in the new hammer pull weight but not krazy stupid ..there is also a marked improvement in how the hammer now maintains control of the cap ...to the point it is now a pleasure to shoot instead of a test of patience to shoot

Somebody out there has figured out the correct hammer spring weight ..or got dang lucky one time ..which I do not know except my cap problems are fixed ..I still have the large bore factory nipples/cones to shoot Triple Seven and cap gun home made primers in a pinch

My sympathy to you guys with range problems ..you need to move to Missouri!!! ..The Missouri Department of Conservation has over 20 non staffed no $harge ranges scattered all over Missouri and 5 major staffed ranges around major metro areas ..the ranges are awesome ...

The range near me is 20 Min. from my house ..all paved walkways and rolled chat making spent suppository recovery great ...concrete shooting benches at each station (multi station for each yardage) with 7,15,25 and 50 yard pistol and 50, 100 and 300 rifles positions ...heavy framed rail ties/plywood/rubber belting target holders well maintained ...pit toilets ...skeet range....trap range and a shotgun slug range (the skeet and trap have volunteer range officers and does cost $ ..everything else is no cost) PLUS ...15,25,35,50 yard archery range with great target/backstop and a tower with normal staircase access that approimates a deer stand height over looking the 25/35 targets

Here is how we Missourians got so lucky:
The Missouri Dept of Conservation IS NOT FUNDED by the state coffers in ANY WAY and and is 99% immune to the politics and the financial raids of the coffers of the MDC by the politicians
It's basic source of income are license revenue and ...and next is the real money tree that makes all these great gun ranges, conservation areas, private land voluntary purchases by the MDC to make even more land public ..this is the result of a 1/8th of one cent tax on soft drinks

I was involved with the petition process (small part) many years ago to blow this act past the senate and house and proud of i! ..in the years since there have been politicians/groups who have gotten a "recall" or "redirection" of the soda tax on the ballet several times and the good people of Missouri have averaged 80% vote to DO NOT TOUCH it as it is not broken
