Boosting sales is what its all about. No sales, no nothing. Just cause they offer it doesnt mean you have to buy it. I for one have my .36 Colt snubbie, which i love. Watched ole' Dave do a '58 snubbie on you tube and i have wanted one ever since. Hence my Colt .36 and .44 revolvers. Just cant quite pull the trigger on one of my '58's. LOL

Here is one I made up myself some years ago... in my garage!!! LOL 😀 😲😱😀. It was the first black powder revolver I ever owned. .36 caliber. Someone had already "customized"/iff'ed up the barrel, so I just shortened it some more, and rounded the grips. I cut the barrel to 2-3/4" IIRC. I also made the holster... on my kitchen table!

I love that holster brother. Very nice job. Is your Russian friend still doing his leather work also?

Ok, fair enough, has anyone here actually fired one of these yet?

If so what did they find when they fired it?

I hope for the sake of those here who are actually buying them, the video I found is dead wrong...

Um, yeah, someone here has fired it.

What did I find? Watch the video.

Video is not dead wrong.

Loyalist Dave gave a lot of valuable information. And there are legal
implications. For example, Historically Inspired might be a ROA.
However, the Ace I think would be period correct. Mike Bellivue
says he has not seen an antique Rem NMA shortened, but I have
and several have gone through collectors auctions. The Avenging
angels were Colts but some Remingtons were made into belly guns
as well. This is important from the legal definition of firearm view.
I would copy what Dave gave--because believe it or not, some people on
this Forum are considered experts and authorities and you are dealing
with legal issues. If you search online you can find antiques in collections
that were made into belly gun/hideout snubbies. They did exist, and
therefore In my opinion are period correct.

Those are some nice looking revolvers. 😃

My Russian friend was last working on a Cowboy style belt. Life kind of got in the way for now (wife, twin 10-year old girls, aging parents, on and on).

Thank you, I liked how that 1858 snubby holster turned out also. I had more pictures, but I accidentally deleted a bunch of them a while ago. I sold the gun and holster a few years ago.

I like that holster, i keep staring at it. Do you have a pattern you could send me? I like the cross-draw style of it. I would appreciate it. If you dont have my address i will PM it to you again. I have 2 Bealls style '58's and one is factory and the other is a kit gun. One may be sacrificed for a snubby, but i like 4" barrels so it may become a long snubby. My other 2 Colts are 3" barrels.

Well, well, lookie what showed up in today's mail after all!!! 😃 :thumb: 😀 :p:cool::cool::cool:

I am really happy with this gun. It is extremely well made. Stamped 21 (made in 2021). Everything is very well fitted. The trigger has some noticeable travel, but it is crisp, and not too heavy. The mainspring is full-powered, which is just how I want them to be. The inside of the frame opening for the cylinder has been finished nicely. Even the area under and behind the trigger guard is well fitted!

I will fire it tonight get get a first impression, and then I hope to get out the range with it tomorrow morning.

Thanks to the OP, jdesro and others for the heads-up on this gun! More picture coming soon, I am sure.

Thanks, Lee!

I think I still have the pattern for that holster, and if not, I will make another, because I want to make a similar holster for this gun.

I'm not sure if I still have your address. I'll look for it, and if I can't find it I'll send you a PM. I will be more than glad to send you a pattern.

Lee, I found some more pictures of the holster I made, and also a picture of the gun as I bought it. It was brand new, but someone decided to crudely cut off the barrel with a hack saw, and angled the cut backwards so the muzzle could not be squared off without removing the loading lever latch.

I installed a toe plug to the bottom of the holster. You can also see the welt I used. On the new one I make, I think I'll leave off the plug, but add a hammer thong. Definitely use a welt, which is pretty much standard practice for me.

Woo Hoo!! looks good! Looking forward to your impressions of it!

I shot it tonight in my basement, after loading it on my kitchen table! 😱 😱 😱:oops::oops: 😀😀😀

The manual that came with it said to use .454" balls. They were really tight. After loading three, I tried .451". I will probably stay with the .451". I loaded 35 grains of #3F powder. No recommendation on cap size were given in the manual. I tried #11, and headed for the basement. At the first shot, a few of the caps fell off. They were too big. I shot two more times, then installed three #10 caps on the remaining loaded cylinders. Those all fired perfectly.

I was only shooting at about 6 yards, so I can't give any kind of meaningful input as far as accuracy goes, other than the shots were perfect windage-wise. I had vertical stringing, which was my fault, as I could not see the top of the front sight due to the poor lighting, which is the case for anything I shoot in the basement. My main goal was to function test it, and see if the sights were in the ballpark as far as being regulated. So, I could not be more pleased with my purchase.

I was going to shoot it outdoors this weekend, but I have other obligations that I had better address. I hope to shoot it out side next weekend, or maybe after work next week.
