I always have had problems with My T.C. Hawken eating flints, I just ordered a "new style" cock for mine from the Gun Works in Oregon, They have a good supply of the new style cocks. From what I have heard the new style cocks are a big improvement. They were very helpful and friendly so if you need parts for T.C. rifles give them a call.

The new cock made all the difference in my Renegade. It is now a very dependable firing flint lock. I also purchased a new frizzen from RMC Oxyoke (a modified Lyman GP frizzen) but I have not installed it as I seem to be getting plenty of sparks from the original frizzen.

I have a circa-1996 TC Hawken .50 caliber flintlock (kit) with the old design cock. I have only fired it a few times and not recently but also wish to replace the cock with the new design part.
Are these OEM replacement parts no longer available? TC out of business I guess?
What does the aftermarket part cost? Is it a "drop-in" fit?
Thanks. Dave

As I understand it, the gun works bought all of the T.C. traditional parts inventory when Smith And Wesson bought out T.C. and stopped production of the traditional rifles. So they are origonal T.C. parts. The cock was 25 plus shipping. I assume it will be a "drop in" but I can't be sure until I receive it.

It is pretty much a drop in replacement. There may be some burrs in the opening where the cock fits on the tumbler to file off, but other than that, it is a direct replacement.
