This isn't my first post here but I am still very new so figured I would do this.

Just getting into muzzleloading/ firearms in general. I have always been a massive lover of history so I decided to get a Second Model Brown Bess. It should be here any day now! Joined this forum to pick up on tips and learn the ins and outs of muzzle loaders.

Thanks all!
Welcome from Michigan, roughly what area are you from?
I am pretty new as well, learning curve for both of us.
I'm just north of you in Ontario! Definitely is a learning curve, so much to get right and wrong, so many questions.

What gun did you get?

I have always been into some type of muzzleloading, mostly as a passive hobby as it extended hunting season for us.
Roughly a year ago I started to get pretty serious but have yet to find much in the way of local supplies or events to seek help.
Even when I utilized it as means to extend time hunting I used a TC New Englander in .54 cal.
Now I also have one in .50 cal along with 6 or so various revolvers in mostly .44 cal.
Very recently the wife graciously allowed me to purchase and older non fired Pedersoli Kodiak in .58 cal with matching 20ga smootbores.
That is where I am definitely going to need help.
Ron.

Oh damn, well you definitely still have more experience than me then haha.

That double barrel is pretty cool, but yeah I can imagine it'll take some getting used to.

Hey Johannes
I’m in Ontario too. Not the most convenient place to be a muzzleloader I know. I’m down in Joseph Brant country, Brantford. If you’re not to far maybe we can get out to some Crown Land and bang flintlocks off.

Definitely not, everything is a bit trickier to get and do up here. I'm pretty far away from their unfortunatley :/ but Crown Land is exactly where I plan to shoot haha
