Fellow "Front Stuffers" I went shootin a couple of weeks ago and when I got through I decided to try foaming "Wipe Out" ( the standard formula not the black powder formula) to clean the trusty LYMAN GPR . Well as I understand it this is a citrus based cleaner . This is the best thing I have used to get crud out at the range . When I got home I took the barrel off to flush out with soapy water and no powder residue came out. I would expect their black powder version is even better. I would be interested to know what experiences you guys have with "Wipe Out" or other types of foaming cleaners.

Keep your powder dry!!!!!

Wipe-Out should work about the same as soap and water, as it is mostly water and alcohol. Tried one of the foaming cleaners (CVA?) and didn’t care for it as I still felt it necessary to follow up with wet patches, ultimately adding steps to my cleaning process. At the range I just use a spray bottle with my version of moose milk in it. If not doing a complete cleaning, find that after couple of quick spays down the bore followed by a patch or two, most of the crud is gone. Moisten another patch and wipe down the outside and gun is ready for the trip home where a complete cleaning is done.

Why make things more complicated or expensive than they need to be if the simplest solution works just as well? Like fishing lures, many BP products are just designed to catch purchasers rather than fish.

I've never heard of this stuff in all honesty. Just another wonder gimmick to take your money. Hot water with a little Murphy's oil soap has been keeping my muzzleloaders clean for decades.

Never tried a foaming cleaner. Always used dish soap and windshield washer fluid. Works fine and $3 worth of it lasts a long time.

Hot water and dawn dish soap hey it cleans oil off the ducks. at the range just wet and dry patches the last one with a bit of lube on till I get home and do it right. No need to complicate things.
