Modifying hawk heads is fun, relatively inexpensive, and satisfies the need to make things. This one was an English pattern with a pipe bowl. I made it into a pole ax and duded it up some.

It throws real nice too.

This one is my all time favorite pattern. It is cast from an original head, with rust pits and all. It looks pretty good just cleaned up but on this one I did the best I could to remove the cast in rust damage and forge marks without altering the character of the head. I think it has excellent lines.

The handle is ash. I is also an excellent throwing hawk.

Yes, I did the engraving. There was some minor reshaping of the head to keep proportions after altering the English pattern head and very little on the other one.
