1864 Burnside Model 5 Carbine serial # 11486 with carving "C :I0 E" on the left side of the stock.
It's in very good condition with the normally expected usage marks on it after 156 years.

The bore is in good condition and I have shot it a number of times and it really shoots good.
I'll include 25 cartridge cases so you can get it ready for the range if you want to shoot it.

I will consider a Uberti 1860 Colt Army as partial trade.

Price (shipped) $1,350.00

Interesting gun but not a muzzle loader. Doesn't belong here.
Over a year ago, the forum rules changed to allow discussions about breech loading cartridge black powder guns provided that the gun used a seperate cap that was not a part of the cartridge.

The Burnside and several other guns that were used during the Civil War used this kind of primer-less cartridge.
Pin fire, Rim fire and Center fire cartridge guns are still prohibited on the forum.

Thanks Zonie for the info.

I understand that a reproduction or even an original 1860 Henry cannot be listed here but A Burnside, Smith, Maynard, etc. would be OK

My Cooper's Capping B/L Rifle is qualified in the patent that it can also be used as a M/L if no cartridges were available. Westley-Richards Monkey tails were also used like this as can any CBL with a good breach seal.. OLD DOG..
