B.W. Amsden worked in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. circa 1860-1880. This rifle is .38 with 30.5” barrels, bores are excellent. The wood is very good and the rifle is unmolested as far as I can see. There is a inlay on the cheek piece that seems to be proud of the wood. I cannot tell if it is original to the rifle or added at some point. The rifle has a single trigger that activates both locks. The left lock seems to need attention as it will sometimes slip from half cock. American Double rifles of this quality are seldomly encountered. I will be happy to supply additional information and photos on request, please PM. Priced at $1850 + shipping.
